Engine Hoist

I must be getting old! Lifting the outboard on and off the boat to the dinghy is an exercise I have grown out of wanting to have to do without an aid. In mid 2007 I decided to look for a simple, but effective, solution; some sort of crane.

Having looked around and considered fabricating some sort of gizmo I eventually settled for the solution offered by Plastimo - an engine hoist. It comes in a nice stowage bag, is easily assembled, can be rigged/un-rigged into the desired position quickly and it does the job of raising and lowering the outboard to and from the dinghy to the stowage controllably and safely. It cost about £150+VAT

And that's it. Safely done - no hassle!
